So the buttons on each side of the latch handles of the targa top on my sol don't move. My latch handles come off, I think they just need screws. My top does latch. But what exactly are those buttons on each side for? I'm guessing it has something to do with my targa top sensors, because even when my tops latched my gauge cluster says its not latched.
when you slide the button/switch it should unlock so you can turn the handle. its essentually a lock for the targa top, when you put the top on and close the handle does it click? thats the lock, then to take it back off you slide the switch to the front and you can open the handle.

i had a problem with my handle getting jammed up so i would try taking the targa and placing it some where and just see if the rods come out if one side goes and the other does then that is why it say it is not locked

Interesting, i'll have to try that tomorrow. I'm guessing my targa latches but doesn't lock. The buttons don't move. However whenever I latch it with the handles, and push up on the targa from inside it doesn't push up (which is a good thing), but weird about the locks. Bla, i'll figure it out tomorrow thanks guys.
im not sure when i bout my car the person put silicone on the top left but i scraped it off and now the only time water gets in my car is when i open the door

Welp I figured it out, the screws on the targa latch were turned too far to lock. Works perfectly now. Anyone know what size screws are needed to hold the targa handles in place? As far as the top leaking I have 2 answers. Mine leaks sometimes, but I noticed that when my windows up all the way and I shut my door the window doesn't go under the top seals/weatherstripping so if I crack it a tiny bit and shut my door it goes under. Or if you're inside the car shut your door and roll up the window after getting inside and it doesn't leak for me. But mine may be different. My other answer is, buy new weatherstripping.
