Hey I have 97 ACCORD V6 that when started starts making loud chatter from the heads it sounds like. I took the valve covers off but was unable to find anything "loose". Do the v6 accords require valve adjustments?

They do require valve adjustments periodically. The probable cause of the noise cannot be speculated on without being able to hear it for ourselves.

With the car running use an automotive stethescope to try pinpointing the noise. That's all I can suggest without hearing myself.

You're wrong. C27s don't need valve adjustments.

That motor uses hydraulic valve lifters. Sounds to me like you have a stuck or dead lifter.

You are going to have to go through all the valve lifters individually and inspect them for sticking pistons. Figure out which head it's coming from, make life easier.

 

Oh yea, it's got that bastard child engine. Seriously, throw it away and buy a real car.
