My alternator on my 1990 si hatch is not working or seized. The crankshaft turns when the key is turned but the pulley on the alternator does not turn or move. Is there any chance of saving the alternator by means of WD40 or should I just cut to the chase and get a new one?

Ya I just got the car as a gift from my boyfriend. I had a turbo civic that I blew up and sold so now I'm thinking mini me swap keepin it NA ha

Find a local rebuilder and have them rebuild it. Make sure you use a new belt.

 

just get a new alt. you can get a new one with lifetime from vatozone for under $200. cheaper for a reman
