Default Help with tire size.

I have a 96 civic hatchback with 16 inch wheels with 205/45/16. The ride isn't terrible but it could be better. I want to go with a 205/50/16. It will technically fit but with issues I'm sure. Here's my suspension mod list currently on the vehicle;

KYB AGX shocks
H&R sport springs from EM1
Front EX swaybar
Rear ASR with EK9 swaybar
Stock camber links at all 4 corners
GSR motor (weight is a factor?)
No spacers
16x7 5zigen FN01-R +43 offset (not certain of offset may be +45)

What will I need to do to make this tire size fit? I don't care about speedo or odo readings. I don't care about launching off the line. I've been spoiled with my new truck and it's ride comfort and would like my civic to be more comfortable. I'm not a racer by any means. Please share your input.

The weight of your gsr, compared to D series Isn't much of a difference. The B series short block only weights 4 pounds more. Maybe 20-30 pounds more? Wont do much, if anything. And if you aren't running AC/PS your cars weight likely did not change.

You "may" rub, actually, I am quite positive you will rub.

If that doesn't bother you than go for it. I can't see anything else happening, other than your speedo will be off.

LOL! I agree. Nice try ricky! What part will rub? I've already removed inner fender liners. I'm not into totally "slamming" my cars either. The H&R springs has the car sitting pretty low already. I'm fine with 45's but I want more comfort in my ride quality. Anyone have experience with this tire size?

Tire to fender.

How low is the car? Like how many fingers can you get between the tire and fender?
I want to say my freind's car came with 205-50-16, but I am not 100% sure on that.

He would rub at full luck, if he had people in the car, and always if there was a slight incline while turning. The fix was to pull the fender well, and roll the fenders lip. That part that the fender well sits on. But he was kind of low.

Doing that stopped rubbing except on inclines at full luck, which that is pretty easy to stop.

I am with you, I don't like slamming my car either. Been there done that, and it wasn't for me. I like a functional height, that looks good. Besides, handling pretty much goes out the window.

ive sat on 45's and 50's honestly i cant tell the difference at all...i think quality of ur shocks and springs would make more of a difference than 45's or 50.......the specs were 205 45 16 on falken ziex and JDM itr wheels ... apexi full coils...real 1 finger gap....fender liner intact... no rubbing...

With coilovers, would the 205/50/16's fit?

LOL. Funny, I switched my AGX's to 2, I think yesterday. The numbers on top of the shocks are worn so I did it by color. Not sure which colors are which numbers but the car rides smoother on city streets. I'm really curious about this 205/50/16 size since it's just about time to change tires.

If you had coilovers, yes, because you would be able to raise on lower as you please.

I just checked with my friend, he DOES have 205-50-16, and does not rub. And, he has 0 camber in front.

I think he has about a 1-2 finger gap.

That's awesome, man. Thanks for checking. Any ideas on what wheel he's using and it's offset? His spring rates in front?
