Default knock sensor?

whats up guys im having trouble connecting the knock sensor from a 97 gsr on a 92 civic with and obd1 p72, i wanted to know what wire from the engine hardness is the knock sensor? i have researched and many say it red/blue but there are two red and blue wires which one is the correct one? Do i look at the driver or passengers shock tower? And last question, i know that the knock sensor should go to D3 but what do i do with the wire i removed from the D3 position do i just leave it out without connected to nothing? thanks

No, it actually makes your life easier. So there's a wire in there(d3) correct?

you should be able to just cut and solder that wire to your knock sensor wire.

does the wire in d3 go anywhere right now?

The wires are in the following order:

ORG/BLU BLU/GRN WHT/BLK

BLU/YEL WHT/BLU YEL/WHT

REMOVE THE FOLLOWING WIRES FROM THE 6 PIN VX PLUG

ORG/BLU - O2 SENSOR

BLU/YEL - KNOCK SENSOR

LOCATE THE 10 PIN PLUG PICTURED BELOW THAT IS ON THE VX SHOCK TOWER

The wires are in the following order:

BRN/BLK EMPTY BLK/RED

ORG WHT ORG/BLU WHT/BLU

BLU/GRN BLU/YEL EMPTY

REMOVE THE RUBBER PLUG FROM THE TWO UNUSED SOCKETS

INSERT THE ORG/BLU (O2 SENSOR) WIRE INTO THE SOCKET BETWEEN THE BRN/BLK WIRE AND THE BLK/RED WIRE. (TOP CENTER SOCKET IN PIC)

INSERT THE BLU/YEL (KNOCK SENSOR) WIRE INTO THE SOCKET NEXT TO THE OTHER BLU/YEL WIRE. (BOTTOM RIGHT SOCKET IN PIC)

NOTE - IF YOU ARE USING A CHIPPED P28 ECU YOU WILL NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT WIRING UP THE KNOCK SENSOR

hey guys i have someone that is selling me a p28 ecu that is chipped for a b18c1, and the knock sensor is disabled, and he said what i would need to do is to remove the iabs or get a skunk 2 intake manifold, and wire vtec but since i have a 92 civic my model is already prewired for vtec, is it a good deal for $110 or should i just stick with my p72? and would it be hard to remove the iabs? thanks

it would be better to run a chipped ecu u can always get it tuned and the knock sensor is pointless and you would be better off without it. goodluck

Go with the chip p28. Sell your p72, pretty rare.

If you get it tuned then the knock sensor is not an issue.

but knock sensors are not pointless, quite the opposite. a knock sensor can save a motor

And if the engine has no knock sensor but the ECU is looking for one?

obviously if the engine has no knock sensor, then it isn't pointless, its nonexistent. however, b18c1's have a knock sensor, hence this discussion.

i hooked up a pin in D3 and ran a wire to the passengers side shock tower but i dont know which wire do i get for the knock sensor, there is a plug that is plugged to anything but i have searched and some say it is for the secondary o2 sensor, so which wire do i cut into for the knock sensor? I'm running an 97 gsr engine hardness...

Run the wire from D3 to the corresponding pin on the shock tower/red/blue gsr harness wire.
