Icon2 Major problems with b20 vtec

Ok so I bought this b20 vtec in a eg coupe. It needed headers and a new timing belt tensonier. So I replaced the timing belt, water pump and tensonier and it was fine. But the guy who did the work said the thermostat was stuck closed and when he went to add more coolant after draining it to replace the water pump it wouldt cricleate. So he got a new one and put it in and same thing but he said the old one and new one was different. So he told me he didt put one in at all the car donsent over heat or anything but it runs like **** !!! He also told me the dizzy fit in 2 ways.... ok now to describe how the car runs and starts. The car starts rough and sometimes not all and when it donsent start I have to give it a little gas then it starts but idles rough and low around 300rpm and like 3-7 seconds later it jumps to a 1000-1100rpm and stays there. Then when I drive it has no power and kinda bogs out then it kicks in and takes off. The car ran fine before any work was done to it just had a loose timing belt. The compression is fine and none of my valves are bent. The timing was doubled checked by a local shop I kno someone at but they had no idea what was wrong with it. Sooo please someone help I will post videos or pics and give more info on any questions. Thank you

What shop did the work? You sure this guy didn't mess up your motor? I'm assuming he messed something up since it ran fine before he touched it...

There could be so many things wrong with it. How many teeth are on your water pump? how many on the timing belt? The distributor fit 2 ways?what? I bet that distributor is part of the problem. Also I you could have a head gasket problem. The other part of the problem is the guy you had work on it. and the next problem is you bought a car with a hybrid motor that wasnt all there and you dont know anything about it. You should find someone on honda tech on your area willing to come sort out you mess.

so is your map sensor hooked up to vacuum? is it defective? did you install an o2 sensor? is it wired properly. problems with these sensors will def make your car run like ****. map sensor is the most important sensor and the o2 isnt far behind

Your map sensor is on top of your throttle body. I got a little cheap thermostat from auto zone if you need to get a new one go there. Clean your idle air control valve with a brake cleaner for weird low/high idle problems. Check spark plugs, spark plug wires, and distributor for misfires(bogging). I would double check on that timing belt job too.
