my all motor build!!!!
ok so i recently blew my jdmb16a1
so i'm now building something better...
its a gsr block, gsr crank, gsr rods with type r pistons. N1 crank pulley. arp head studs. gsr oil pump and water pump.
the heads a 99 type r head with gsr cams for now i will be adding on skunk2 stage 1 cams. nrg fuel pressure regulator. vtec controler. type r manifold
the tranny is a gsr with stage 2 clutch.
its going on my 96 ek 9
im wondering how much whp will i i have once dyno and tune is done.
got any inputs on my build?

skunk2 PRO 1 cams? or tuner stage 1 cams? these cams are pretty mild with the tuner stage 1 cams being just as mild as ITR cams. i guess you will be making like 180-ish horsepower at the crank once fully tuned with the cams.
No its a whole different motor I blew my b16 now I'm building what I posted...gsr block gsr cranks and rods with itr pistons..99 itr head ima go with some tuner stage 1's skunks but what's the difference between pro and tunner? I have itr valve train on the head..ima be tuning on chrome p28 ecu
your bottom end setup is basically an ITR block. are you using JDM ITR pistons or USDM ITR pistons? and pro series are more aggressive than tuner series. tuner stage 1's are near ITR specs. if u are properly tuned, you should expect about the same power as an ITR motor. assuming you gonna have intake, header and exhaust too

The pistons are jdm spec pistons..
But for the pro series u have to use valve train right? Well from what I hear or will the stock itr valve train on my itr head hold up?
As far as intake its a stock itr manifold the hear I have now are replica type r headers but I'm looking to get better headers...what would u recomend as far as headers? I want a good reliable set up for daily driving and for racing when needed too so I'm not lookng to go too crazy! Exhaust is apex world sport piping 2 and a quarter..

OP - if you're staying with oem VT, stick with oem cams. Sure you might be able to run the S2S1 on stock VT, but if your motor peaks higher than 8k, I would not rec. revving it out with aftermarket cams. $300 bucks is pretty cheap insurance, not worth dropping a valve over and poppin the motor.
Pro1's are larger than S2S2's. Pro series cams require VT and tuning. Nowhere near a drop in camshaft.
If this is your first build, I would do R cams for now....get the thing tuned with quality bolt ons. Once you get more framiliar with the N/A world, then look into cams. The best thing someone can have when building a motor is patience. You can't expect to buy a buncha parts that you found for cheap, throw them at a motor and say "Here - make power!" You match cam profiles to desired powerbands, compression, driving habbits, supporting mods, etc etc. Get the basics down first...thats my suggestion.
Also, our motors have 1 cylinder head. 1 cylinder head = 1 header. I use Toda's header, I love it. If you don't want to spend that much, SPF makes a Toda copy and the RMF Narrow can also be had for around $375. Stay the hell away from the "Tri Y" replica's, they are absolute garbage. And you do have ITR and not PCT pistons right?

I'm actually running a KiDD Racing header on my type R swap with a Apexi WS2 catback on my integra.. Everything on the header is slip-fit and slip-fit adjustable test pipe.. Check out the all motor forum, there's all kinds of info about that header and dyno charts, but it's a great affordable combo IMHO.
Both. Yeah thats great you made your power or whatever, but put a Bisi, Narrow or Toda against it and it's gonna get it's *** wiped. SMSP wouldn't even be a contest. Post your graph - I wanna show the OP something.

^ There's a couple, lemme see if i can find some others
Chill out man, I didn't say it was the best header on the market.
Props

Which cams are you wanting to run?

thats what my b16 setup looked like

spark plug or what was left of it when it blew

do you guys think jb weld can fix it?? lol

my head!

my type r head

n1 crank pulley

Whoa whoa Jimmy - I was talking to K7-1 guy and his Tri Y replica, not you and your RMF haha. I like the Narrow manifold, I do not like the Hytech knock off haha. Sorry bout the confusion boss.
David323 - Rocket Motorsports is no longer. I was a dealer for him. Like I said above, if you're going to be using stock VT, use stock cams. Simple as that. Another thing, if you want this motor to last...I wouldn't rec. using the N1 pulley. It provides 0 dampening and is not a harmonic balancer.

also quick question on suspension..will tein superstreet suspension from an eg hatch fit my ek hatch???
Suspension is different, will not fit.
Do you understand what the harmonic balancer does?? Google it and read....it's like a shock absorber for your entire rotating assembly. Without it, you will be right back to where you are now.
