Default precision billet gt35r question

is this turbo (precision 62billet gt35r) is using the same turbine housing as garrett gt35r or special precision housing?
and how is compared to billett 6262 in spool terms?

There is no Precision 62 billet GT35R. There is a 6262, but that uses a 71mm exhaust (IIRC) to the GT35R 68mm exhaust wheel and different turbine aerodynamics.

According to Precision and its most recent dealers catalog this month, there is no such thing as a Precision 62mm CEA GT35R hybrid turbocharger. There is a 62mm Precision ball-bearing versions of their own turbochargers, part 300-6262-E and 400-6262, and 500-6262, in the E and S covers, but regardless of what that ad states, it is not a GT35R cartridge at all (even the picture denotes a Precision only cartridge, and not a Garrett).

I believe that this is a typo or he wasn't aware there was no actual product to make the advertisement, unless this was made special for the seller by Precision, which is not likely. But as the ad looks, I can only infer that it was for mass sale and wasn't a real hybrid. Only Precision representatives can account for the validity of it, so they may chime in here.

Thats a true 6262, not a Garrett based turbo.

They will still make them if you ask.

Its called a 6235R (thats how I was the first to have the twin scroll 6262. Others were machining different housings (and had bad results) when I just went the 35R route)). Might not be listed, but you can still have them do the conversion. But yes, we are in agreement the picture is a Precision unit and not a Garrett hybrid.

Interesting. Again, I was going off of their standard catalog. But I'm sure if they have availability, they will make changes to certain customer needs. But only Precision can answer that

Which is right when their contract ended with Garrett several years prior.

Im sure they dont list it anymore because they push their line more than Garrett's, which is understandable. That and because its easier for them to sell a 6262, having the hybrid as a regular offering probably isnt worth it.

i talked with a precision rep on the phone around sept last year. he advised me they were introducing their own line of gt/billet turbochargers. He gave me a call back late last year to let me know they were ready and in production but I didnt catch back up with him. I did find a vendor selling them, it mentions t25 flange but t3 would be available as well
