few questions on body work supplies
whats up guys, havent really been in the paint and body work section much, but i figure you guys would be the guys to ask.
so im trying to get ready to do the body work on my coupe, and im curious what products would be the best, and if you guys could help me get a list of materials to get started.
my plan is to do the body work on my car, and basically prep it to be painted, wether i have a bodyshop paint it or a maaco(ive heard if you prep it yourself, maaco comes out pretty nice) anyways, i dont want to use no junk, but im not looking to spend a fortune.
i know i need body filler, spot putty(i think thats what its called), sandpaper, and some aerosol primer to cover my work. if you guys could help me out that would be awesome. im a mechanic by nature, but i am more than confident that i can do this job myself. i worked next to a bodyshop for over a year, and when we were slow in the mechanical side, id go over and have the body guys teach me up some **** lol. any help is appreciated!
thanks

We ve always used Dupont and 3M products, i wouldnt go with maacco paint, its thin and very cheap. If you re taking the time to do the body work... you want it to look good and last? People take cheap ways out and in a year or so they are wondering why it looks like ****, and paint flaking. What steps did they teach you?
well i had seen from the maaco thread, a bunch of cars that come out good from maaco, i didnt know it was thin and junk. i cant explain what i learned, i guess its more like techniques? i just wanted them pull frames, paint, fix dents and ****. i just picked up alot of stuff watching, thats how i learn lol. i just feel like i can fix it myself instead of paying 2k+ for bodywork and then paint...
and i was looking for stuff to order online, like whats the best body filler and other materials i would need

if you do the body work you self and you have some skills doing body work you can save yourself cash or if you dont have the skills to do it and you do it you can wreck your car really good and need to spend a lot of cash
dont use bondo brand filler (i hate that ****) go with a evercoat filler and get a blue hardner instead of a red hardner. Then take your time
