lm-2 needed to street tune with neptune or s300?
I have been doing alot of reading on the tuning facts sticky, but what i cant figure out is do i need to get a mtc-L style wide band controller? (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTXL.php) If i am trying to street tune, Using a neptune set up or s300. Or am going to have to get the lm-2 to data log with, or can i just hook up the wide-band 02 sensor to the Neptune. All i would like to do is tune my a/f and possibly my ignition timing.
With NepTune you can datalog the serial stream on an LC-1, LM-1, or LM-2.
Otherwise you can run the analog output of the wideband (Any 0-5v wideband) to one of the analog inputs of the ECU for both NepTune or S300.

So the Neptune or should i say demon can control the heater circuit too? thus allowing me to completely run on the wideband in closed loop mode.
The Demon is an emulator. NepTune would control everything.
You would disable the O2 Heater if you're not using a stock O2, since that's what it's for stock. A wideband is heated by its own controller. You can use your wideband in closed loop. You'd need to wire the wideband's output to one of the ECU's analog inputs as mentioned above.

I think you are trying to run just a wideband sensor without the wideband controller. That you cannot do with either system. You must use a wideband controller.
If you are going to street tune this yourself, I'd recommend simply purchasing the Innovate LC-1. If you go with Neptune/Demon setup, you can plug the serial output from the wideband directly to your laptop for tuning. This is by far the best way to tune your a/f ratios on the street. If you go with S300, you can still use the LC-1, but you will have to wire one of the analog outputs to an input on the ECU (like o2 input, eld, etc.)
Do your self a favor, buy something with a gauge....
I can't tell you how useful it is to be able to watch your wideband on the fly without your laptop.

ok Great thx alot for the info guys .. i guess i can just get the mtx-l wide band gauge because it pretty much has the lc-1 built into the gauge
also its the same price as the lc-1. From what i am understanding the mtx-1 has the same outputs/inputs and the lc-1 (correct me if i am wrong). I am About the order the mtx-1 right now
then next week the neptune

ugg idk what i should get ... every one likes to save money... starting to think about getting the Ostrich Eprom Emulator Kit (http://www.xenocron.com/diyer-intro-...age-p-238.html) . I would be saving around 200$ over the Neptune-RTP Demon Package Do you guys have any opinion on this ?
Then you're stuck using Crome or eCtune and you still have to buy the license. You're not saving anything so how did you come to that conclusion?

Make sure you buy a system that your comfortable with. Download both the smanager and neptune software free of charge to play with the interfaces.
Also, make sure you buy the system from a dealer that is going to offer real support...
ohh i thought crome / hondata was free ... or i can go totally cheep and get the Moates BURN2 Chip Programmer but thats just a pain in the ***. At least i am learning a lot
I was thinking that because it said this in the description for the

moates ostrich or the demon (depends on which software)
innovate wideband (pick one they all will work)
Crome pro/neptune/ectune/hondata (pick one)
socketed ecu
good to go but none of the above is free
if your just doing this for fun and on the cheap
crome pro or free version of crome
moates ostrich
innovate mtx-l

Yep & guess what? I never recommend it to ANY of my customers as a tuning solution as it shouldn't be something that someone should spend money on i.e. crome pro.
To the OP: Do some searches before you consider spending any money on crome pro etc.

So i played around with hondata and neptune and crome ... soo i figured out that crome does suck lol, and i learned about Hondata before so its not foreign i like the 3d maps it has but you don't need that at all its just for show. For Neptune it seems really nice i like it a lot ... thinking about sticking with that except it says i need the FTDI Drivers and i cant seem to find them ... i don't wana have connection issues on my first day with the product :0 ... My head is about to explode i don't know what i should get.
The drivers are right in the download section of the website. After install they won't be registered until you actually plug a device in, so you'll get that message until you do.
Go with the Neptune it is easy for a person who is new to tuning to follow and has great customer support long after the sale. but it's your dime. Buy the Neptune with RTP. have a WB and maybe get the EBC. You will have a lot of fun with this set up. Yes this is exactly what i have and Really enjoy it. Proven..
