Default Anyone know the pitch/size of a b-series countershaft nut?

I've searched and searched without luck. I have a ys1 with with ATS 4.928 and type R internals. When I took the countershaft nut off, i accidently mangled up the threads a bit and I am unable to thread the new nut on. I am looking for the thread size and pitch so that I can order a die to re-cut the threads.

Does anyone know where I can determine the thread size and pitch of the ATS countershaft?

Thanks

-Justin

Not sure. Take a stock shaft or a new nut to a specialty nut/bolt shop and they can tell you. Pics of the damaged threads? That is a critical part and it might be too far damaged to safely reuse.

The original nut threads on without a problem. I cannot start the threads on the new nut. I also tried an used nut from a cable b16 countershaft that i have. All the nuts including the original nut thread onto the b18 cable countershaft without a problem. For some reason, the new nut and b16 cable nut (whish should be the same) wont thread onto the ATS countershaft. I came to the conclusion that I mangled up the threads a bit. I tried filing the first few threads to aid in initial thread engagement, but the new nut wont catch the threads. It has a tendency to crossthread. I assume that the ATS shares the same threads and thread class as an OEM countershaft.

I am a bit frustrated as this is the last thing I need to do before I re-assembly the case. I guess I may have to look find a machine shop capable to determining the pitch of this nut.

Thanks for the insite. If anyone else knows, you'd save me some time. Thanks
