i was racing one of my friends with his civic gsr.. i have a d16z6 in my hatch greddy turbocharged, stock fuel system etc.. my CEL comes on when racing.. usually for o2 and map or both.. well the last race my light was on and we took off.. he said that my exhaust was shooting out flames that were blue with a slight orange outside about a foot long? wtf?? anyone know why this is happening and what it can do to my car..? thanks ahead of time!!

yeah.. it actually is.. but would that cuz it to shoot out 12inch flames out my exhaust? i thought it was tight, but then again i was kinda worried....

yeah, unburnt fuel igniting on the hot exhaust pipe. too rich! but looks cool!

 

For this problem you should look into investing in an ignition system like msd and get a full set up. It's also a little strange that you are running on a stock fuel system. Usually injectors are needed to help add a better fuel system so honestly the fuel shouldn't be unburned... Also try investing in some gauges so you are able to keep track of your car.

 

well doesnt the map sensor problem cause the timing f*ck up?

I can't imagine a pathfinder shooting flames out of the tail pipe. Does anyone else find that image a little comedic?

 

my buddy Nick's (Nick M- Mod. in the Accord Forum) H22 Accord spits a good 2-4 foot flame on oocasion when he shifts from first to second. of course its running rich, but it looks so dope Its great when it scares unsuspecting motorists driving behind him.

you just dont put turbo on and run it like it was buildt with it !!

but anyways if hes throwin codes for the map. i suggest lookin into getting a missing link, or split second to fool the map sensor.

 

You will probably just need a O2 sensor like they said.
