91 Integra Dying Problem (PLEASE HELP)
ok i have a 91 Acura Integra GS with the stock B18a1 5 Speed. Just had new plugs and wires installed. When i got the car the ignition was broke, and had to use a screw driver to start it. I just bought a new ignition today and put it in but didn't get the switch with the harness. The car starts fine but after it runs a while it cuts off, but will start back up fine. The car has also recently cut off while driving and also when coming to a stop. Its kinda like when the car warms up it gets worse. Its not throwing any CEL's while running (the ABS light does come on though, doubt it has anything at all to do with the problem just wanted to let yall know). I have no clue what it could be. Also the car gets hot while driving but when i come to a stop it cools back down to normal temperature. Doesn't make any sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.
what do you meen you diddnt get the switch with the harness?
im gonna deff say its the ignition ground maybe. also i think you might have the thermostat failing wouldnt hurt to replace it there dirt cheap and also your abs sensor is failing or shorting out i would check them all but im not sure how to test which one is failing.

Possibly the Main Relay?

As far as the over heating check the thermostat and a coolant system flush wouldn't hurt.

Main relay would have symptoms such as starting and almost immediately dieing.
Wouldn't rule it out, but likely not to be the issue.
(Also, if you do get a Main Relay, don't go to autozone. I went there for MR ($50) a few years back, it was bad, took it to a shop and they said it was MR and my old was bad ($150). Took the old one back, had it tested... BAD.) Buy from a trusted source. Don't be $200 in the hole like I.
Sounds like ground. I 2nd that.

I recently replaced the part of the ignition the key goes into. THe switch itself is on the left side and held on by two screws..
So yes, it's possible to change the mechanical part that receives the key and locks the steering column without changing out the wiring harness/switch that connects on the end.
That said - it could be that switch was damaged when the rest of it was jacked. You might undo the two screws holding it on (disconnect battery first) and examine it closely. You can also access the electrical connections when it's installed, so you can put a voltmeter on it and measure while turning/wiggling the key. Possibly you can detect a bad connection that way.

i tried holding the key over and it made a noise like the starter was constantly ingaged. and i will look into the ignition switch. and also i got a new MR today and am going to try that tomorrow. because right before the car died today i was holding the relay in my hand and it clicked right before the car cut off.

As soon as the car starts, turn the key back just enough "SO STARTER STOPS".
Like others has said as well, the MR is also a good thing to look in to,so lets hope that's it. GL
Both the PGM-FI Main Relay... http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelay.html and the ign. switch... http://techauto.awardspace.com/ignitionswitch.html are common problems on older Honda/Acura.
I would also check engine harness grounds, [grounds at thermostat housings].
A problem with the ECT sensor could also cause problems, [running rich] once engine warms up. 94
