Timing problems on my Del Sol need help

Default Timing problems on my Del Sol need help

I have a 94 Del Sol and I rebuilt the head on it and when I put it back together I made sure all the timing marks where right and everything BUT.... My problem is that when the piston is on tdc (number 1 piston) the distrubutor is on number 4 what can i do to fix this problem, thank you

yea when everything is on tdc and the Number 1 piston is up and ready to fire the the distrutor is trying to fire on the number 4 so any ideas or tips that I can do to fix this problem I tried to change the wires and checked the timing but nothing... the timing is right on the money its just the distrutor that isnt so what can I do to fix this problem....

Just wanted to clarify, have you actually tried starting the car?

Anyways, if the distributor is on 4 and IF everything else is perfectly aligned then your distributor is 180 degrees off. Check to make sure that it is installed properly. The distributor is only designed to fit one way (slot on camshaft is not centered) but it is possible to force it in there incorrectly.

The only other thing I can think of is that the end of the distributor is on backwards...but that would mean you took it apart. Did you take it apart?
