Well guys I did it. I went car shopping yesterday and traded the ITR in on a '03 WRX with only 10 miles on it. Never test driven...just got delivered. I setup the deal and signed. Today is my last day with ITR. I will miss it very much. I took some final pics today of #477 at a park.

I will miss engaging into VTEC in 3rd gear to pass someone on the interstate. I will miss taking on/off ramps at 70 mph. I will miss tearing apart cars with 50+ more hp on the roadcourse/AutoX. I will miss so much about this car.

However I will not miss the paranoia I felt about theft/vandalism. The thought that I would park my sub $25k ITR next to a $70k Porsche and have some jealous ***** or greedy thief mess with my car because the parts will swap into a number of lower end Hondas.

I traded to a dealer here in Omaha, Nebraska called Stan Olsen Subaru. I can find out what they will be asking for the car and get contact info if anyone here is interested.

I didn't trade for a WRX because it's a better car. I traded because my needs changed. I wanted something I can daily drive and park anywhere with *less* worries of theft. I live here in the Midwest and the AWD will come in handy when it gets snowy.

Replace VTEC with boost and the WRX can do all of those things.

OG...haha. Yeah I've been here for 3+ yrs now. Ever since the old Honda-Acura.rely.net boards then the split.

I'm actually getting two different cars. Dad's handing down the '69 Camaro SS which I will restore. The WRX will remain as stock as possible for now. It will be fun for this winter though. The hybrid is staying for now as well.

I will definately stick around H-T. I might even meet up with you guys at the next ITR EXPO to check it out.

 

Sad to see it go. Sad to see another Integra owner go to WRX land.

Sad to see an ITR on a Subie Lot (I bet they sell it to an Acura Dealership). If I were a Subie dealer, I wouldn't want an ITR on my lot, just cause it'd make all my cars look bad!

Don't shift into 2nd gear to hard with that WRX. SOA isn't covering that under warranty.

It's a '03 Rally Blue. I hear the tranny probs are supposed to be gone with the new '03 models.

Wow, they plan on updating the front end so soon after its initial release. Glad to see the designers agree that the front end is somewhat "neonish".

 

The bodystyle is the same for '03 as '02. I'm not sure on when and if the body will change for sure.

Couldn't afford an STi, not to mention...this will be my beater folks.

 

Woud you mind telling me what the dealership gave you for a trade? If I'm in the wrong for asking, my apologies ahead of time.

 

Good luck WRX is a nice car,I would take an R anyday over it though,I love typeR's,but I can see where your coming from you can't park them anywhere,I can't even take a chick to the movies in my GSR without some 2 bit thief who doesn't have the heart to go out and work for a living to buy there stuff trying to steal it.Good luck.

 

although sales are brisk in the US market...the current headlight design is apparently not such a big hit in the homeland...EXACT same situation as when the integra first went on sale in japan with the four beady eyes
