I have a 98 DX Coupe with all stock stereo system. I'm wanting to add an aftermarket 2 1/16 oil preassure gauge soon but don't want to mount it on the a-pillar. I also know of the gauge cluster bezel with the two pods, but I don't want anything covering my stock gauges. So I was thinking about removing my stock tape deck under the dash in front of the shifter on the center consol, and fabricating something to replace it and mounting up to 2 different gauges there. One being the oil preassure gauge. Anybody ever do this before in the location I'm talking about? If so how did you go about it? Have any pictures? Thanks in advance for your help.

 

Are you talking about a single DIN blockoff plate?

 

I have never seen a single DIN blockoff plate for the tape player, I've only seen the pockets for the tape player. I figure I was gonna have to learn to use fiberglass and make something myself, and was just looking for ideas and tips.

 

Used to be a ton of them on Ebay. That or make your own.

 

Okay, I'll take a look on eBay for sure, I was figuring this must be a pretty common place to put these gauges. Seems like a good place to put them to me anyways! Not like anybody uses their tape players anymore lol.
