So i was working on my car today and ive had this shell for about more then half a year i got it with shaved moldings and figured it was fine, i never started working on the body because i was busy building the engine and setting up the brake line, wire tuck setup.... till today i just decide to dig into the bondo and found a NIGHTMARE! I have got the thought of bondo out of my head because i wanted my moldings back ive looked thru the threads and have yet to see someone actually do a full quarter panel job

My question is do i purchase a aftermarket or go rip one off a junkyard civic???


there is primer over the metal but u can tell the bondo is deep and it has holes where someone tried to pull it it just looks Horrible
If someone could please give me some advice and i have made my mind if im going all the way its the last hatch im getting


(i cant find nowhere that has a full quarter panel) just Fixmyrust.com has this but i suppose i need the full one)

I have brought some aftermarket ones before, not bad at all and I even had some new oem from Honda, to me, it's who does the body work on it than works!

 

thanks bro could u tell me where you purchased the aftermarket ones? i called a junkyard and just because of the labor he wants to charge me 600 im like i could possibly find a shell and try it myself lol (which i dont want to do)

600 to install the new one or to sell you one i bought one for the ek for like 200 but they gave me like the 1/4 of the car and then you have the drill all the spot welds out to get the skin off took me like 2 or 3 day for the whole job did it at home just had to barrow a welder

is the bondo thick past the body line? the patch panels ive seen only come up to the body line so if its higher your going to need new 1/4 panels all together or extensive reshaping. Its hard to see from that angle and that low resolution pic.

 

yeah 600 for the whole car quarter panel lol no installation ......
I looked at that website and its the same skin everyone is selling...

i will update the pics asap from day....

thanks for the advice im really considering getting it from the junk yard since no one sells a full quarter panel id hate to have to pay someone to reshape n have door problems
