after i drive for awhile and turn my car off then go do something for a couple minutes and come back and try to start it, it doesnt start. it turns over but the check engine light comes on. if i let it sit for about 5 minutes it starts up no problem. any ideas?

 

might be ur main relay

 

Most likely your main relay, test it and rule it out. Check the FAQ for testing and replacing procedures.
