h22 automatic belt tensioner to h23 manual tensioner conversion timing belt nightmare
long story short, i just converted a h22 to a h23 manual belt tensioner conversion, and Ive been trying to put this FU***NG TIMING BELT ON for the last 2-3 hours, trying everything
possible! anybody got any tips or ideas. holy **** man this almost seems impossible. It's a brand new timing belt too. its an h22a4.

Loosen the cam caps (or remove them if necessary) so that you can slightly tip the cam gears downward and that will allow you to slip that pesky timing belt on. Then, re-torque the cam cap bolts and you will be good.
