yeah i've seen those, very nice
but i think osram 8000k is even brighter than the philipps
the pic posted above what kind of kit is that phillips?
i know the K doesn't have a barring on the brightness
but i hope some of you agree somekits are just way brighter or HAVE that bright glow to them

can someone explain how the 4000K, 6000k, etc, differ in brightness and color? does it just depend on the company you go with or is there a standard you can go by?

From what i know the higher the burning temp (k) the more purplish/ricey the beam gets. Also LESS light is emited from higher k ratings. Seems like 4300k to 5000k is the best meld of light output and color of beam. anything over 5000k is gonna be purplish and more for show then absolute lumen output.

Well, I don't know anything about HIDs, but I do know that Kelvins are a measurement of temperature, or in theis case color temperature. The lower the number, the more red-ish/yellow-ish the tint, the higher the number the more blue-ish.

This isn't a measure of brightness, like lumens or foot-lamberts, just color.

Your 4300 Phillips kit looks "bluer" than mine. I got the same one from Trevor
Maybe its the angle the pics taken.

A photograph taken at night will never show relative light colors and intensities correctly. Leave the shutter open longer and the light will appear brighter. Light color can also vary depending on any other surrounding lights (like yellow mercury vapor street lights, etc.).

naw... those are the RayBrigs or PolarG's or whatever for the parking lamps or turn signals or whatever. Those aren't HID'ed

As for the color of the light, I took the pics using a tripod and let the shutter open a bit longer so i can take the night shot. I dunno why it turned the way it did. Maybe that's what PatrickGSR94 is talking about

If I didn't take a pic with the tripod and let the shutter open at the longer interval, the camera would be shaking and the image would be blury.

Trust me. After the HID's warm up, they are just bright not blue... They were already warmed up in that pic dunno why they look the way they do though

-aoib0t, who continues to ramble about bulbs

Polarg bulbs tend to be more bluish color. Raybrig I don't know. The best white bulb I've found is PIAA Xtreme White.
