Default castlenut balljoint question!!!

Hey whats up, Im helping a buddy of mine put in his gsr into his ef. I was just putting the suspension back together when i got the castlenut halfway onto the lower balljoint when it just started spinning. The whole balljoint keeps spinning. I cant get enough room to clamp it so i can twist the bolt? if that makes sense to you guys. and i tried jacking up the lca so it puts weight on it so it stops spinning. Anyone who can help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it Sorry i have no pictures but if you know hondas. you should know what im talking about. Thanks!

If the nut (castle part) is passed the tip of the thread try pushing/jacking the tip up. The force may lock it enough for you to tighten the joint. Obviously you will have to use an open-box wrench or the ratcheting one.

impact gun.
zip it right on or off.
if you're putting a nut on though, make sure to thread it on a bit first.
but seriously, impact guns make balljoints painless.

Impact guns can also make you strip the threading on the balljoint itself. I never use them to tighten them up. If you take the balljoint out of the LCA and clean it it'll help it bite onto the LCA. When it gets to the point where it starts spinning, tighten it slowly. That'll help as well. I used oil filter pliers to get enough pressure on my balljoints to tighten them up

The best option might be to replace it. It cost about $30 from autozone and you can rent their tool to do it yourself. other wise you can try jacking up the LCA and pushing down on the brake rotor while tightening.

Or you can put the wheel on and lower the car down so the weight of the car is pressing the balljoint into the lca hard enough so it wont spin, then you can tighten it from underneath.
