9/22 LVR autocross, w/ pics. a rolled civic.
9/22/02 held another autocross at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We had about a crowd of about 80 people (74 racers). It was pretty warm... almost unbarable. Out of the 74 racers, I managed to place 8th overall. 2nd in my class. The first 5 placements were held by 125cc shifter karts. The 6th place was held by a D-Mod Caterham 7 (he's too fast). 7th was by an E-Mod V8 Fiero. I was one of the two people who placed in the top ten who drove their car to the event.
On a side note, a D-Prepared civic hatch rolled!! during a sweeper left hand turn, he lost control, tried to correct... OVER corrected, got it sideways and the inside (driver's side) tyres caught grip and it went over.

This is the car that rolled. The driver was ok, but the roofline of the car was significantly changed. The passenger side a-pillar was severely damaged and the only thing that stopped the roof from completely cave in was the autopower bar. They say the car is totalled (due to frame slightly bent). We're all saying, hack the roof off, make a full cage, and enjoy.

Elduablo (whatever, it's YT) and his WRX.

Finally, a good side shot of my car

This guy did REALLY well. He races Spec Miata as well with NASA and SCCA

Older Z, yum

Shifter karts pwn!

Can anyone guess what he was doing?!??!!

Primer pwns j00!

Nice pics...
Rolled eh? I thought that never happened at autocrosses...
Looks like he has a rollbar in it. He's probably glad now.

There's a entertaining post by the civic driver here, talking about the rollover:

Gee, I wonder how he feels about harnesses and rollover protection

Hmmm . . . slushbox 60-series tires? No wonder it rolled. When those sidewalls start deflecting it is all over - only a matter of time before they roll over, flatten out and then bite.

Ok. This is the last time I travel somewhere without checking the schedule. I could have easily rented a car from the strip and gone autocrossing instead of sitting through some stupid time sharing pitch on Sunday.
