Default Launching on Drag Radials

I've got a B18C with LSD, ACT clutch in my 92 hatch and I'm running Nitto Drag Radials. The first time I went to the track with this setup I did ok, but my best 60ft time was 2.21, which isn't terrible, but isn't great either. I've done a search and read a bunch of posts on launching, most say to rev to 5k and feather the clutch.... I've heard dump it at 3200 (I bog really really bad if I do that) and i've heard dump it at 7k. I've also got a question on tire pressure for the nitto DRs. Last time before I did a search I ran them at 22 PSI. From what i'm reading, most people are having better luck around 15. Is that correct? I'm just asking for some advice from people who have used these tires longer than I have.

Thanks!

No matter what tyre you're running, don't dump the clutch. Slicks are a different story obviously. Anyrate, you're not trying to burn the tires, you're trying to launch. Try 5 - 6k and release the clutch moderately. Not sidestep fast, and not slow.

3.2k is way too low. Last thing you want to do is bog.

With Drag Radials, you should expect 2.1's easily.

Drop the tire pressure some until you get better traction. Try 18psi on driver side and 20psi on passenger. Heat them up pretty good using the parking break and launch around 5k+ using a slight slip method and control wheelspin with the gas. 2.1 60ft times should be right there.

Well for my BFG drags I launch at 5.5K and DROP the clutch....hit a 2.08 60' with 17 psi in'em.

With 12-15 psi I should see a 1.9 60' at 5.5-6.0K drop.

Let the LSD do the work and save your clutch........DROP the bitch and keep your momentum up........work with rpm and tire pressure......your clutch will thank you.

what's your favorite tire pressure? Are you just dropping it at 7k?

If he has an ACT race clutch, it wouldn't be possible to slip it when he launches.

What kind of ACT clutch do you have?
