H22a Cat question

Default H22a Cat question

sup guys i just bought an ek coupe with an h22a. Check engine light is on and there is no cat. Can i buy a cheap universal cat and put it on so i can pass emissions?

what ecu is the car using, obd1 or 2?

I believe since your car is a 96+ it needs to have an obd scanner hooked during the test, which you fail because you converted to obd 1, if its just a sniffer test then you could probably get by with a universal cat

Albuquerque tests OBD2 cars at the DLC port. If your car is OBD1 in a 96-up Civic, Its going to be tough to pass. Can you get the car registered in Rio Rancho or Los Lunas? No tests there!

I love it, it pulls super hard. Only thing is REINFORCE the bracket on the motor mounts that **** was almost about to break off i am guessing from all that torque on a lil civics chassis.

Well if i tried to register it at any of those little cities are they going to ask for an emissions anyways because of my address?
