Default B18A WONT RUN

Last fall my car stopped running and I thought it was a timing belt so I just put it away for the winter. I have recently put a new timing belt on, oil pump, obd1 dizzy, and obd1 ecu. I put the dizzy on because after i put the timing belt on it still wouldnt start. so i checked spark and didnt have it. Now that i have spark it is acting like it wants to start but still wont. I've tried adjusting the dizzy forward to see if it helps but not sure if it helped. Any suggestions would be great thanks!

Did you check to see if you have fuel pressure? Timing is right? any blown fuses?

Yea I have fuel pressure at least 30 psi on my guage. I checked all fuses and they seem fine. I never have good luck with the timing belt is there any tricks or secrets? The pin holes on the cams line up the marks on the cams seem lined up and the oil pump mark all seem in line so Im at a loss

If your not sure about the timing a timing light could help. It hooks around the first cylinder plug wire and flashes when it's TDC and you should see the two lines line up on the crank pully. Usually you use it while the car is running though. More people will post with ideas soon too. Check for fuel? if you turn it over a few times the plugs should be wet with fuel because it's not burning.

Is the car turning over at all or at least trying to?

Yeah it turns over fine and even starts popping like it wants to try and start...I think I'm just going to have to start over and try doing the timing belt again. Here is a pic of it as it sits now

are the cam gears adjusted at all or set to zero? as long as the crank was at tdc in that pic, the mechanical timing looks fine. maybe play with the dizzy to see if you can get it to fire up. then use a timing light to see the proper ignition timing.

This might sound stupid but have you tried changing out your fuel filter? It could be clogged with debris especially if the car was sitting for a while is bad/dirty gas in the tank. My car was kinda acting the same way a little while ago and what helped it was a new fuel filter. I would also say mess with your dizzy.

Yeah the cam gears are at zero and from what I can tell everything else is at tdc. I have not tried the fuel filter but that may be a cheap try....also I have tried moving the dizzy back and forth and I'm not to sure if it really helped that much if at all.

Check firing order of the dizzy. Pretty sure u got them firing wrong into the spark plugs. The popping is the sparking of the fuel. I mess up the firing order several time and that was the symtoms of not starting....good luck!!!!!

I had a car that was running alright then I did not start it for a while (months)and then when I did want to run it it would not, it would just crank. Had to change the plugs and put some fresh high octane(premium) and then it started running again. No flaming necessary just suggesting

so I know i have fuel... I pulled the plugs and they were saturated with fuel...also I could possibly have the firing order wrong would it make a difference with putting a obd1 dizzy on there? I mean is the firing order different on that?

Thanks for the nice pic! So I got it running due to the pic. Either I'm mildly handicapped and didnt switch them over right on my dizzy when I change over to obd1 or there is a difference between obd0 and obd1. Either way thanks for all the help!
