Default 2002 civic clutch kit

I got a price quote of 650 for new clutch kit installed incl/flywheel resurf. Just curious what people thought of price. Incl all. The throw out bear is going bad along with some possible surface wear. I smell that brake smell coming from it. It looks a little beyond me as far as work goes otherwise I would do it myself. Prices for kit run right around 300 and the place has a good reputation. World class trans delmont pa. Feedback appreciated regardless of sarcasm. Thanx!

what kind of clutch are you putting? Are you upgrading or staying OEM?

I would instead of resurfacing the flywheel would change it with a Type-S one its a little lighter and will make the Si a little more fun to drive.

Remember if you upgrade clutch you need the Type-S flywheel!

I'm not putting it in. Staying OEM since I haven't done any engine work. What's involved in changing the clutch? Any special tools?

You pull the transmission all the time? Just curious why(racing?). How do you measure flywheel runout? Would like to buy a new flywheel but not right now. What do you use in place of the ring gear holder when installing the clutch disc? Or don't you really need to worry about things moving around? Thanks for your help I appreciate your knowledge. Someday I would like to buy a used tranny and pull it apart just to see whats in there. I looked at the clutch removal a little more and I guess it doesn't seem as bad as I thought. I guess I just wanted to make sure it was done right since it's my daily driver getting me to work and it's got a 180k mi on it.
