I'm looking for some clarification on whether an 05 transmission will work in a 2004, I can get my hands on an 05 transmission with less miles on it for less money than the 04 (go figure) I thought they were the same, but the guy at the salvage yard says the 03-04 would work, but not the 05...can anyone confirm this? the vehicle is a 2004 civic EX 5spd

 

2001 - 2005 Civic EX transmissions are the same.


The 2005 Civic transmission that he was referring to might be from an Si, which will not work.

 

no it was a single cam, all my research shows it should be the same, the clutch is the same part number, bell housing pattern should be the same, I'm gonna call him back and talk to him about it and see what we can do, thanks for the quick reply I appreciate it
