ebay exhaust.. fitment issues
i bought an ebay kit for my DA because i needed something cheap and fast to get me on the road. and guess what.. it didn't fit.. AT ALL. it was too short, the bends were all wrong. it was a total flop.
that being said:what exhaust should i run with? something modest with a good tone. and i will need a WHOLE system. the previous owner deleted the cat, straight piped it, and welded it all together. so to get it off the car, i had to hack saw and grind it apart.
i want the OEM look with 2.5" piping preferably. videos and links would be awesome!

I'm running it and it's great. The engine is louder than the exhaust at higher rpm. Nice deep tone. The pipes are not perfectly straight though, but the welds are nice. Everything bolted up fine with no leaks.

noooo, the exhaust is the OEM style (the ebay i have now) but the bends are not at the right degree to fit in the channel down the length of the car and won't connect to the cat. and it's even a few inches shorter than it should be :/
The seller might make you pay for shipping back, but it might be worth looking into. I had the same problem with a crappy ebay header that I had to take as a loss.
For a cheap but decent exhaust, I've heard good things about going to a mom and pop exhaust shop. The big name places will rape you. It would probably be cheaper than buying a kit.

I have a feeling there might be something wrong with your exhaust from your cat to the motor not from the cat-back since it is a few inches shorter and you said the kid before had it welded and all mangled up. Or you assembled it wrong just a thought I have put part A where it should of been part B if you get what I'm saying.

I wouldn't buy anything that has to do with exhaust\intake from ebay, most of those things are notorious for cracking due to the steel being too thin and not being reinforced properly. What ever you do I don't recommend buying a turbo off of ebay, all you need do is google 'ebay turbo explodes' to see the reason why

Did you return it to the seller on ebay or at least debate it over paypal?

Its possible that its the user of the turbos that are to blame but I don't think I'd risk sending a chunk of turbo through my head.
^Hell no, and I wouldn't either brother!!! But to say all of them will explode is a little far fetched.
If you love your Honda as much as I do (and I'm sure you do) then you wouldn't hold one of these within ten feet of your hood, however some people run this with a good quality tune and it makes for a damn fast backyard special. HAHA
At one point I ran across a thread "post your ebay turbo numbers" and I was almost shocked at the amount of people who throw this kit on the beater!

nice, I guess with a conservative tune or the right setup they can last and wont xplode but as you said, I like my honda (even if it is torn apart) too much to risk it
.
First, I know how to install a "bolt up" exhaust kit.. Secondly, if you had read my OP, I said I needed something fast and cheap. And never said anything about buying a turbo.
Are you looking for something "fast and cheap" again? Whats your price range?
Yonaka makes a decent exhaust for the DA at a good price point $300 Shipped, recently came up on several threads as well. People who own this seem to be happy!!!
Video/Sound on DC (I know its not DA...but close enough)

The muffler itself could easily be painted black for a super stock look. 60mm piping, almost 2.5"
