with so many car thefts at the house .

a simplest thing yo can do is buy a 25-50 dollar webcam with 2.0 MP resolution and put in in your window aiming at the driveway or at your car.

the webcams are getting better at low light sensitivity. especially if you have a lighted parking/driveway.

and the video desnt take up that much space on your HD either.
i run mine at full rez for weeks before it eats up the space.

for those of you who want to argue about the effectiveness of this.
what are you comparing it to? a full video surveilance system that costs over 200 dollars...
but you cant see the licence plate.. well no ****. you cant see a licence plate with alot of expensive surveilance either.

25 dollars is 5 coffee cups less that you drink that month. but you sleep better.

 

good idea. they also sell infrared wireless camera. i think theyre like 100$, but they work great and theyre wireless

 

now you can watch a video of a guy wearing a hoodie driving off with your car

 

like i said. its better than not watching anything at all.

 

the wireless one gets bad after a couple of months. trust me i know i have 5 outside my house lol

 

we used to have something like that, but it streamed to a online data base thing where you could watch from any computer

not sure but if you do this you might need a city permit for recording to use any evidence in court if anything did happen.
