Power Steering???? GSR vs ITR
Just wondering why the steering in the ITR is stiffer than the other Integra models... that was the first thing I noticed when I first drove the ITR, before purchasing... and now when I drive my brother's GSR, the steering is too soft... now is there a way to adjust the stiffness to the GSR's steering??? and this is besides taking off the power steering belt... or is the ITR just stiffer due to the LSD??? but let me know guys.... I know he doesn't like it much and I sure don't like the steering to be that soft...
I dont know about the GSR but I think ITR has "speed sensitive" steering. The turning varies with speed so I don't know if that contribute to the "stiffness" or not. hope it helps.

The Type-R does have stiffer steering rack bushings than the rest of the Integras. There are 4 bushings. I recently purchased the bushing from the Type-R, but I haven't installed them on my GS-R as of yet. So I cannot comment on whether or not they will change the responsiveness of the steering...hopefully they will.
don't forget that stickier tires make a BIG difference in steering "feel"...
everybody knows that the michelins the GSR's come w/ are garbage, and ITR stock tires are
I don't know about any difference in the power steering system though - mine's "non-functional"

Well, I understand the tire issue also... it's just like when there is too much air in the tires and the steering is soft as hell... but the GSR still does have softer steering... doesn't help much with no LSD (GSR) and one tire spins faster than the other...

I THINK the ITRs PS pump is a bit diff from the gsr. I remember reading in a mag once how its diff to help get all the power they can out of the motor or something.
the beefier rear sway bar plays a huge difference as well. face it...the ITR is totally decked out differently from the GS-R.
the difference is like tricycle to a bike.
but...the GS-R can be fixed up to outhandle the ITR....it's all about the complete package.

I know for a FACT that the GSR and ITR racks (of the same model years) are IDENTICAL. The used part interchange #'s are the same and I have physically compared them as well. The rack bushings are harder on the ITR but a full ES bushing set is basically the same.

your right!!!!! and so is the steering pump if I am not mistaken and the turns lock to lock are the same..... Don't you wish there was a way to make them with less turns lock to lock?
Well, I guess I'll just have to pull the power steering belt out then... that seems easier than changing all those different parts... thanks for input and comments guys...
