CRX LS Swap Alternator issue
I've recently just got done putting a b18b1 in the rex with an obd1 d16z6 alternator... It was the only one that i had available since i did not have the alternator that came with the engine. It was working fine until the alternator belt started to shred apart. I believe this is due to the fact that the pulley on the alternator is bent on its edge since we had that thing tightened pretty good. I was wondering if i could simply just use a b series obd1 alternator without having to worry about fitment, because i've looked at some b series swaps and people have banged out the side of their chassis for proper fitment, and it is already too late for me to do that since the engine is in lol. And also what would you be a cheap alternative for the crx radiator, because i plan on going turbo in the next month or so. Thanks.
the belt probably shredded because d series alternators are 3 rib vs b series is 4 rib so if you had a b series belt it won't sit all the way on the alternator pulley. yes a obd1 b series dizzy will work just fine for you. if your worried about clearance with the frame rail I believe you can run a slightly shorter belt that will pull the alternator closer to the block.
as for the radiator I ran a 85 vw scirrico rad in my h2b ef sedan they are $87.99 brand new from autozone and they are small enough you can tuck them under your core support. it wont work with all turbo setups but it can fit with the right one. also look into a mid 90's dodge neon non ac radiator if you can find a used on at your local junk yard they are like $170 new though so I didn't op for one.
you can see how much more room the vw radiator added. only bad thing is there is no filler neck on it so you'll have to buy a inline one.

Sorry for swaying of topic OP, but

Sweet on the radiator, been looking for some info on one that would fit there for a while. I also noticed you've extended your shock top hats, did that make much of a difference?

I'm just worried about running into overheating issues in the future since it's such a tight space and the radiator is very thin

the scirocco radiator has actually a pretty large internal volume. if I remember right its like 391 cid vs a eg half rad is 191. I can't remember if its rated in cid or cm3. but you get the idea on comparing volume. it worked amazing on my fully built h22 I had.
should have just used your stock radiator

and since you were worried about heat, could have used a dual core DA radiator

with a low temp thermostat i stayed around 184 and with a stock thermostat i stay around 200
