Default 2.5 inch exhaust housing to 3 inch downpipe restrictive?

Hey guys,

Ive come upon a small problem and need some help...

I bought a GT3076R .82 ar with a regular style T3 4 bolt 2.5 inch exhaust housing.
However, I will be using a 3 inch downpipe from Full Race.

I was thinking of getting an adapter from ATP that goes from the 4 bolt 2.5 inch outlet to a 3 inch vband in order to hook up the downpipe.

I was wondering if this is somewhat of a bottleneck or restriction by any means? I have contacted ATP and they said the gases are still expanding at that point, and that there should be no problem. I just want to make sure by having some other opinions. I got a good deal on this turbo and didnt want to buy a whole new GT vband exhaust housing, so hoping this is a good alternative to that...

Any help and comments will be appreciated.

you are going smaller to bigger. if anything that should improve flow. if you were taking a 3" GT housing down to a 2.5" dp then you might have a bottleneck.

FWIW my 30r has the same 2.5" 4-bolt housing. i run a 3" dp from full race, car makes 400whp

2.5" flange right to 3" piping. its dented around the bolt holes for clearance. its a PITA to get the two under side bolts off. they are allenhead for max clearance.

if i ever change turbos it will be v-band like the rest of my exhaust system
