So a 16 year old car has an approximate 500 rpm fluctuation on the gauges at approximately the same speed? Doesn't seem too bad really?

****, I've got OCD but I'll give you props for even noticing it. Are you actually hearing any difference in the motor at those speeds/rpms? Is your rev limiter doing that all the time or just when you first start it up?

If you hear a sound difference then it is possible your engine is actually running at different RPM's.

Have you done preventative stuff lately?

EGR Ports cleaned
FITV/IACV/TB cleaning
etc

?

Well if you figure it out let me know---have a 95 EX and have the same.

Mornings-can run 65 mph at 2,000 rpm's (summer or winter), all the way to work. In the evenings-most of the trip have @ the same rpm's but at the end of the trip I'm running 2,500 at 65 mph. Yes the same-it is the engine rpm's, not the tach.

I'm almost sure it has to due with the fluid-before you go there, I drain and fill the trans with Z1 (soon to be DW1 if you don't know) every 10K. Last reach is that the solenoids are not sealing off and a bit of pressure is bleeding by not allowing full lock-up.

And I have the same OCD about all of this and many other things when it comes to the car....and btw, mine has about 165K more on it than yours.

EDIT: And my stated rpm's are once the converter "locks up". Before that, well we all know they are higher.

Ok I wanted to follow up on this because I got another ECU and I'm still having the same issues...I read somewhere while digging for similar threads that a guy with identical issues changed his and it fixed it...any clues?
