My 91 sedan stock d15 jumped timing a couple months ago, now that its getting warmer I wanted to see if I could getting running again.

I know theres a good chance i bent a valve since it stopped completely but i wanna give it a shot, i only need to get to a garage for its new heart.

My question is, is it absolutely necessary to loosen the tensioner to get the belt off the cam gear? I just need to put it at tdc and line the crank up i believe. Unless the tensioner is easily accessible? I know its right above the crank pulley but i feel like that would be difficult to get to.

 

Tensioner is easy to get to. how many teeth did it skip?

 

Id take the belt off it takes a sec to loosen... cut the wheel all the way to the left i think it is and then theres a little cover covering the bolt to loosen the tentioner n ur there u can do it all while cars on ground if u want pics i can try n get sum up when im outta school

 

Needed a shallow socket for the tensioner and i got it. Its wierd the timing was just barely off like only a tooth. Probly went all the way around
