Default TD-18U in a 1.5L 91 civic w/TD-01U???

Hi guys,

I have a 91 4dr sedan DX with a 1.5L engine (D15B2??) DPFI... I'm new obviously. Lol

The stock dizzy is TD-01U and the bearings are toast and squealing. It has a rectangle 6 pin plug with 5 wires and the usual round 2 pin plug.

I have a TD-18U dizzy that's brand new. It has a round 8 pin plug with 7 wires and a 2 pin plug. I believe its out of a 91 civic Si.

All the colors match except the Si dizzy has 2 extra blue wires....

Can I move the pins into the TD-01U plug and not use the extra blue & blue/yellow wires.

I realize one is a 1.5L dizzy and one is a 1.6L dizzy. I don't know if the 91 Si/CRX was MPFI and if that makes any difference. I'm pretty sure they're both OBD0 so I don't think that's an issue.

Is it gonna work?

Thanks,
Geoff

No it will not work because the MPFI has a Crankshaft Position Sensor in the housing where the DPFI does not. These distributors are not interchangeable with each other.

Well that sucks. Thank you for the help.

Heading to the For Sale Forum to post the TD-18U distributor.

Thanks all,
