i had a leak from my FITV hose and somewhere in the process of changing it i ended up pulling the intake manifold and and swapping my rear motor mount and now im having a little trouble figuring out where all of the the hoses go. I got most of them but i just want to make sure that i have them all running to the correct places so if anyone has a complete diagram i would greatly appreciate it!


also when i took off my throttle body i realized that the 2 hose lines where completely corroded shut. are they just coolant lines or what? im planning on getting a new one tomorrow hopefully but i would like to know what runs threw them because i poked some small holes in them when i was trying to clean them out

thank you but i googled that same exact thing before asking on here. I was trying to see if someone had a more detailed diagram then the google ones.

that is the only one that is remotely close and isnt showing a line that is ran from the driver side of the engine, or maybe i missed something when i bolted the intake manifold back on?

there should only be two that run from firewall to th Tstat housing

 

thats what i thought, but there is a 1/4 inch line that is connected somewhere on the driver side that is long enough to run all the way to the tstat housing. ill have to see exactly where it runs from but has me very confused. i dont believe i disconnected any of the fuel lines except for the fuel rail or anything besides the bottom radiator hose and the ivac and fitv in order to take off the IM

 

might be the one that runs from the back of the intake many to the pipe that goes from the water pump to the tstat?

 

ill have to double check tomorrow when its light out. im just going to pull off the IM again and make sure i didnt miss any lines under it

also what would be some problems that would come from the in and out lines on the throttle body being completely plugged with corosion?

 

bouncy idle, corroded/broken parts
you should flush everything out and use new coolant, something that does not contain silicas otherwise corrosion will continue.
distiled water helps a lot too.

 

thats weird because its idled fine since i cleaned out the fitv when i first bought the car last week. i guess ill see what happens after i get a new throttle body on.

already have new coolant waiting in my garage for after i put everything back together and flush with distilled as well as a few new hoses since some of the old had sediment building up in some of them.

good thing you cleaned it.

should clean the Tstat housing while you're back there, also check the condition of the Tstat too.

nice, i would also suggest you find something that is able to dissolve the corrosion and flush the whole system with it. If you already found some corrosion on the hoses, there is a chance that there is some in the water jackets as well.

 

what would be some causes of oil being in your throttle body? the car ran fine before i put on the new throttle body now there is oil in it and its smoking like no other, i know its not the head gasket because its new.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated at this point.

 

actually, where is the line that faces towards the fire wall that is located under the upper radiator hose supposed to run?

if im looking at the diagram above correctly the other line from the throttle body that is NOT connected to the IACV is supposed to run to the top line on the thermostat housing?

"c" is the line that im talking about, i thought it ran to the nearest side on the throttle body but now there is oil in it so im guessing that was not the right line. so does anyone know where it is supposed to run?

 

thats a return line from the bottom of the TB to "c"
and that doesnt look like an ls, more like lsv

edit: the diagram posted above is useless, thats from a single cam. also your many looks like its a gsr.

 

ok so i had the line ran correct. and also that isnt my motor, its a picture of one i found but it was the same line that i was double checking

i realized that my problem was a broken pcv valve so its all better now, although i think a new full exhaust system may be in order here soon as i get up the money
