oh so i have a h22a swap into a civic with LSD, i have a ACT 6 puck clutch with HD-PP, and a jun flywheel
tonight i sprayed my first shot of nitrous 50 dry, and after the last run a smelt a bit of clutch, WTF? now i only have like 700 miles on it, but i heard there is no break in for 6 puck?
i dont think that my clutch should be slipping with only a 50 shot, for gods sake my tires are bald all they do is spin

 

could you feel it slipping or just smell it?

maybe it was how you launched it, when did you engage the nitrous?

 

from a roll in first gear about 4k tires spun, but after the run i smelt clutch, seems like my car has a harder time going into gear now

 

Did you replace the throw-out bearing while you were in there?

Could be a # of things...but if you really want to kill a weekend, try dropping the tranny and check out the clutch/flywheel surface. Hopefully you didn't burn all the material off the 6 puck already?! Was everything torqued down to spec?

 

ALSO, are you sure it's not the BRAKES that you smell?

 

yea i replaced everything, all torqued tight, brakes dont smell like burnt clutch do they?

 

Yes brakes can smell the same, especially if you get them very hot, like a hard stop from high speeds.

BTW, in your sig it says **** honda motors online. Did you have a bad experience with them? I am planning on purchasing from them soon

honda motors online sucks. i ahve 2 friends that got screwed. one bought a 1s gen B16 swap with lsd trannie........all good till we drive it and the synchros are out of 3rd gear!!! then another friend buys a USDM GSR swap......get it all done, and its smoking!! thought maybe just something stupid, but nope. rings are gettign bad and its using oil!! finny thing is that this motor is suposed to have like 50K on it!! HMO sucks!! everyone who knows better.......stay away from them!!!!!

 

what about their 'start-up warranty'? Does that just mean that the engine will fire but isnt guaranteed to run good? thats bullshit
