Icon2 2002 RSX-S Runs over dead dog :/ Help

So I was driving my rsx and I ran over a dead dog in the middle of the run and I didn't think it was going to hit my car, but it did. I looked under my car and the only think i was damaged was the brace the holds the fuel tank in place.

My car now turns off now when I give it some gas and after being on for a while. I think it might be a fuel like or a sensor that got damaged.. I check the car can I couldn't find anything..

If any of you guys know what might be the problem I could appreciate the help.

Update: I removed the fuel pump, but nothing seemed broken. I can hear the pump working when I turn on the car and it still reads how much gas I have. I also unplugged the fuel line from the engine side and some gasoline came out and it seems like its still pumping fuel. Maybe its not enough fuel and the pump might be bad.. Any ideas guys? The O2 Sensors aren't broken and the wires are good.

Is it possible that you dented the bottom tank and somehow damaged the fuel pick up where it's starving itself out when you try to pull more than enough fuel for idle?

Well there is a small dent on the corner of the tank, but I didn't think that would affect it. I'll look at it tomorrow. I have a half tank of gasoline right now

I am thinking it is a pressure issue. Kind of makes since it has enough fuel to keep the engine running at idle, but cant feed it enough when you give it gas.

Maybe try a fuel pressure gauge to get a better diagnosis.

Hopefully you didnt damage the tank, maybe it has a leak up top, but that wouldnt lower the pressure of the fuel line... not sure.

Also, I noticed that you have a cold air. Inspect that, maybe there is a dog leg stuck in it. The engine will do what you are describing if it is not getting enough air.

Based on what you said, I would say your fuel pump got owned via dead dog. Did it only effect your fuel tank? I'm not sure how your fuel lines run, but usually they're tucked away pretty well so idk if it's that. Do you smell any gas because that could tell you if you did hurt a line...

You sure the dog was dead before you drove over it? lol jk
