zc problems please help!
i just swapped in a zc engine into my crx 6 days ago anyhow the problem is that when ever the car is on ilde it revs up and down by itself (annoying). it also effects my driving only at low rpms. it makes the car jerk forward and backwards when i drive from 1500 rpm to 3000 rpm. but when i go past 3000 rpm the car accelarates good. please help!!!
i thought it was my vacum lines so i had some one with a crx dx with a zc in it to do my vacum lines. his car is fine but mine still has the problem. i tried the flat head screw thing but it was still there? man im so cnfused
dude, I have the same problem. check the archives, there is a ton of info on this problem.
There are basically about ten things this could be, and the posts mentioned so far are a good start.
I finally gave up after 3 weeks of troubleshooting because everything looked good, and I
handed it off to a pro shop.
good luck
P.S. have you followed the idle setting procedure in the manual? It basically says to:
1) warm up your engine to normal operating temp
2) unplug the EACV
3) set idle to 550 rpm (using the screw on the throttle body)
4) turn off engine, reconnect the EACV, remove 10A hazard fuse for 10 seconds
5) turn on engine, let idle for 1 minute
6) idle for 1 minute with high-beams and rear defrost on
7) idle for 1 minute with a/c and heater fan on high
This should let your ECU adjust to the engine (what ecu are you using?)
good luck
