89 Crx cabin harness in 88 civic std. Need Help
Ok i just purchased a crx cabin harness for my 88 civic std. Has anyone ever done this swap? My Civic cabin harness is messed up the fuel pump doesnt get power and my check engine light comes on. I have it converted to mpfi from the dpfi. I had it running good once then my fuel pump power went out. I tried to replace main relay and it did work so i wired a wire straight to a switch and 12v power source to get it running. Also had to jump my main relay with a 12v to my fuel injectors pin on main relay. It runs but CEL comes on and it messes up my fuel injectors too. I tried to get it dyno tuned once and we could get it to work right when the CEL comes on. SO im wanna change the harness in cabin and engine harness to 89 crx si harnesses. Anyone have any ideas on how to do it or any problems with it. Will it work??? I just want to get it fixed and working right i got so much money in my car its sad.
Sounds like fun project! I would say bring it back to stock quality otherwise troubleshooting will be nearly impossible. Then fix that butchered MPFI swap.
You runnin' the regular d16 for the si? I'd get the OEM harness and just replace ALL wiring that was rigged, I'm sure there is a short or bad connection somewhere in there.

Honestly I think you may have to undo the changes that were made to the harness, bring it back to stock, and then do the MPFI properly. You are not the first who has this swap, and they all followed pretty much the same directions, which are here on HT. Is this the harness you need help with?

Notice how it is sectioned. There are actually 3 harnesses in your car, the engine, main (pictured) and the rear. Engine harness had to be modified to work with MPFI, main harness was supposed to be only modified at ECU, and rear harness needs no tampering with. It is the rear harness, however, that is directly connected to the fuel pump. After you check continuity of pump wires you can just leave it alone and move to more complicated stuff.

My mpfi conversion was done right it works. My issue is with my fuel. The pump and the injectors. The fuel pump doesn't get power and when I hit boost my injectors lean out and CEL comes on. When I first turboed it and test drove it my fuel pump power went out. I was running eclispe injectors then with out resistor box. Well I got it to work by running a 12v straight to the pump and jumpn my main relay out. Now I just want to change all harnesses to si ones to get it working like a si has any one done this on here or im I going to have to make a write up on how to do it.
just finish 89 si conversion on my 88 std civic so heres the link below
