Default 96' Integra bouncing tach problem.

Ok so my tach has all of the sudden started to act up! It will randomly start bouncing above 2500 rpm then when i drop rpms back down it does right back into position and works fine... Weird. I know its not the distributor because there is no loss in power at all and the one in it only has about 4k miles on it. any help appreciated!

If you have any friends with an integra borrow his cluster. Could be that. Good luck.

the tach wire is either loose on the ignition control module or the icm is bad.

+1 for ICM failing...Is this "new" distributor aftermarket by chance?
Seen this a few times before...

mine does the same thing and its in a 94 ls teg. i have swapped clusters. ran jumper wires. and also swapped distributors and internals. the only other thing i have found is if you get mad and kick the underside of the center kick panel it will work for a few so im guessing intermitent wiring short or loose wire but i cannot recreate the bouncing tack by wiggling wires or connectors so if you figure somthing out let me know

My crx did this before. Turned out the alternator was loose and screwing with the power. My gauge staryed acting up and after a while the car died.
