Default Brake pad installation -- any tips?

I've replaced pads before but it seems like everytime I have I've replaced the rotors at the same time! I just got my axxis pads in from andie and plan on installing JUST the pads. I have a pretty good idea as to how to do it w/ out taking off the rotor, but I'm just looking for some tips/pointers. Maybe so the process wont take too long!
Thanks guys, your always a huge help!

BTW, the car is a 92 civic dx, sedan.

Always use use Anti-squeal lube between the shim and pad.
Always have a fresh can of brake cleaner for pads and rotors.
Apply caliper lube to slides on calipers so pad won't stick.
Pump brakes to lock up before moving your car.

brake cleaner can be sprayed on all parts of the brakes including pads and caliper?
everything? i dont know so im asking.
Yeah you can and you need to do this to remove all finger oils and greases from the rotors and brake pads before you put it all parts together. It also cleans out the dirt in the caliper piston rubber baffel for smother operation.

let them cool off before changing them..
brake parts get really hot

inspect your brake lines when working on them

don't let your caliper hang by the brake line

if you see black spots (little those on a cheetah) then your HAVE to replace your rotor, maching it won't fix it.

bleed/flush your brakes
clean up brake fluid quickly.. it eats paint

Lots of good suggestions but I would not turn rotors for any AX/Track use/Road Racing application since this removes material from the rotor which will not allow the rotors to absorb as much heat and will make the rotors warp/crack sooner.

If changing to a different brake lining material, you may want to take a scotch brite pad to the rotor to clean the old pad material off but I would not worry about it. It will just take a little more time for the pads to break into the rotors.

Good luck
