B16 Idle Issue
I have narrowed my idle problem down to possibly my IACV, and i got a resistance reading of 3.1 ohms. I want to know if someone on here with a b16 can help me by getting the resistance of there IACV so i can be 100% sure. Thanks in advance.
I'll try to add more information to this thread as I was trying to help the OP at another forum. He has a 91 Civic with a 88-91 JDM b16a swap running on a chrome chipped P28. It has a surging idle problem. The FITV, ECT sensor, and TPS appear to test fine. The 88-91 Civic manual says their stock IACV should have a resistance of 8-15 Ohms. The OP's IACV reads 3.1 Ohms. The problem is that we don't know whether the IACV on his B16a and that of 88-91 Civics have the same resistance specs. Does anyone know the answer?
i personally have run both D-Series and B-series IACV's on my LSV. no issues at all (untill it goes bad at one point or another). even now that i am fully converted to obd1, i am running an obd0 LS IACV on my 1st gen skunk2 manifold.
are you measuring between the iacv pins with the plug disconnected? it should be in that 8-15ohm range. my b16 iacv is at 13.1 ohms. what is the issue, CEL?
Got roaming idle. When i start it and leave it running without touching the gas pedal the idle will sit a 1k. The second i touch the gas pedal and it is fully warm the idle bounces 1k-1.5k and so i am trying to trouble shoot the reading to see if the iacv i got from the wrecking yard is bad to, and yes i was testing the iacv prongs not the plug. Also no there is no CEL.
