93 Accord want to lower, suggestions?
Okay as I've never lowered a car before I need some help. What is all needed for a 93 Accord? What do I need? What is a good brand? What would be best for the bumpy roads of Tennessee?
Hit up the suspension thread.
I have a 95 cd7, I'm going to go with konis and ground controls with a mild to not so stiff spring rate.
Total cost 600-950.

I want the best ride setup I can get. Maybe in the $1,000 range IF they are good. I'm just looking for a nice comfortable ride. Theres been some lowered cars I've been in are completely garbage where you feel every single little bump and in the road. I hear lowering springs are better than coilovers?
Depends on the feel you're looking for.
My preference is going to be Tein SS Coilovers, with the EDFC Controller.
I think it's 16 way adjustable dampening force. With height adjustments. Raise/Lower.
The EDFC is the controller box you put inside the car. You can program adjustments.
Basically hit a button to go to race feel, or softer ride.
It's a Sport Feel all around.

I live in Knoxville so I feel ya on the crappy roads we have here. I'd run from sleeve type coilovers like the plague. Function and Form or good so are Ksports but they both ride ruff. Tein SS or Flex are excellent but again ride ruff. Anthing more than 1.5 inch drop is going to ride ruff. The best overall lowered ride I have had is with Bilstein HD struts and H&R springs. Dampers let you tailor the ride height to fit you but the will all ride very stiff. If your just going for looks get a good set of struts and lowering springs. Koni, KYB, Tokico, Bilstein I've used and have no complaints with any. Only springs I like are H&R, Tein or Eibach. Never had any sagging issues with these. STAY AWAY FROM SLEEVE TYPE COILOVERS.......They compress the spring to lower the vehicle the lower you go the worse the ride gets. STAY AWAY FROM SLEEVE TYPE COILOVERS..........

for that price range you can get full coilovers. Just make sure they have full damper adjustment so you can set it to your preference. the stiffer you set it the worse it feels as far as daily driving and bumps but the better it will handle. its really up to the drive. Check out Function Forms type II's. Ive heard good things about those and they are in the price range. Also you can get slightly used coilovers on the forums if your on a budget. I got tein coilovers for $400 and they work great. you just gotta keep on checking the forums sells places often and jump on a deal when it pops up. Also a camber kit would be a good idea if your planning and lowering the car 2 or more inches.

I'm thinking of getting then simply because you can choose your spring rates, not sure eibach has that option.
