I currently make 230whp on 10psi with my greddy 18G on a stock d16z6 with 310CC injectors, 255walbro, and BnM FPR.

My rebuild list goes as follows:

Head:
Supertech valvetrain - valves, springs, retainers
Bisimoto 2.4 cam
Bisi cam gear
Having the head cleaned up, NOT ported or polished (cost issues)
ARP head studs
Not sure which head gasket to go with..

Bottom:
Vitara 75mm's
FJ I beam rods
Stock sleeves
Honed, notched, and hot tanked.


Turbo:
Greddy 18G, going to run a 5bolt vband to 3inch downpipe(i need some advice on the internal gate situation)
Edelbrock log mani
Large Greddy intercooler
HKS SSQV
750CC injectors
255 walbro
BnM FPR
Hallman Pro MBC


-talk to me guys, I've seen in super street a similar setup made 384hp with a T3/T4.
-also do i NEED to purchase the valves or can i clean up my stockers?
-lastly can i rev to 8500 with this setup?

You will make at most 350whp, that is the pretty much the max on the 18g. Also I know the internal wastegate has a pretty small flapper door, don't quote me but I think it's only around 32mm IIRC. I believe you can have it bored out though, again I have never dealt with internal wastegates so this is all what I can recall reading at one point.

I don't know D-series so I'm not sure about the revving of the motor or any other questions related to the motor.

 

I wouldn't rev a stock sohc d-series head to 8500rpm unless you want a chance at valve float. Get the upgraded valve train for a safe peace of mind.

 

will be doing springs and retainers, unsure if i need valves.

 

someone please explain to me why guys spend the cash on a d16 when a jdm gsr is only $1500?

small catch can w/ return and let your tuner determine the redline... id say 8200 as long as you have the springs and retainers...

u should be able to make that power however your going to be pushing that turbo... make sure that thing can breath...

 

I have almost the same setup but with a 38mm external waste gate and 57mm t3/t4. Can't wait to see how it does on the dyno next month.

 

what kind of dyno was the car on?
