Default light wieght crank pulleys?

ok guys what are u feelings on lightwieght crank pulleys? like obx or unorthodox ones. l had one before but when l had to replace timing belt and take it off it started to crack around edges cuz it was made of thin aluminum. might have just been the kind l had but if anyone knows of a good strong one let me know

in my opinion they are not worth it. I would spend my money on something else.

i have an obx that i have not installed yet, got it used in a trade, it looks solid but i dont know, it seems like the general consensus is that nothing that obx makes is any good. i was told on one thread that they have the a tendancy to break under load. i dont know if this is true or not may just be one guys opinion and lack of actual use but i would like to know what the chances are that i would be taking by using this on my turbo h22 setup

I've had an Unorthodox crank pulley for around 6-7 years now on my H23 and have not seen any issues.

the issue was not having it on the car and running it was removing and replacing it again. the lightwieght aluminum cracks easily when taking off

do these have the same diameter?

you can get your stock one shaved down for much cheaper if you still have it.

I have taken my Unorthodox pulley on and off at least 5 times now over the past 3 years with no issues.

Even if it was plastic, there's no reason it ever has to get hit hard enough to crack anything.

l dont have the fancy dancy crank pulley gear puller so l use pry bar. and the aluminum lip cracked on mine. it was a cheap bomz one but l think l will keep my stock one till l have the 200 bucks to spend on it

you are wasting money on a crank pulley. put 200 towards something that will actually do something.

I have an f20b one and it might as well be a light weight one because there is no power steering dive

Edit> Forgot to mention he has the UR pulley set
