Default Honda ecu 4 non honda

So i am actually relatively new to the whole tuning scene... that being said i am still prett good at figuring this stuff out.

So to all the REAL tuners out in honda world, has anyone seen in person a honda ecu run anything other than a honda? Ya ive googled it and found a small sect of nissan guys doing it but has anyone seen it first hand?

My next project (god knows I dont have enough) is to help my buddy with his 1986 suzkai samurai convert to a geo 1.3 ltr engine that is FI and run it on the honda P28 chipped ecu, with crome....

To me looking at his new engine he has similar sensors to a honda, tps, map, iac, coolant temp, oil, etc.. etc.. so y not run the honda sensors on his engine??? the only thing i may stumble on is the distributorless ignition. his new engine is coil on plug.... but i saw it had a cam sensor and crank sensor and im betting if i really look a TDC one too... so any REAL healp or adise that is positive would be greatly appreciated.

Running a OBd1 vtec ECU with Neptune to run a Toyota 4age 20v. I set up the engine to use a OBD1 accord distributor running off the exhaust cam gear. everything else wired up just like any other honda engine. injectors directly to ECU (high IMP) no IACV valve since the engine runs on ITB's VVT solonoid to the Vtec output. Ran great!!

x2, also programmed a 2-stage VVT through Crome Gold nitrous control outputs and a pulse width modulator. You can also use K-series ECU's if you feel like paying $1000, but I'd suggest a standalone at that rate. F*ck Hondata.

I know this is off topic but 2 stage VVT. Can you elaborate?
