Idle drops whenever clutch is pressed
I got a problem I cannot figure out here. Here is some info.
If I rev the engine up and then push in the clutch idle will just go all the way to 0 and just die, if I'm in neutral at stop and I push the clutch in idle will drop to about 2 or 300 rpm and raise up 100 rpm or so. If I hold in the clutch on my car the crank sounds like it spins slower. I have the safety switch for the clutch bypassed.
Car is a 88 crx with b18c1 and cable to hydro conversion any help will be great thanks

Only clutch?
I'm not even sure how this can be possible.
Are you possibly pressing on the brakes as well?
That I could comprehend as the booster vacuum drop can mess with idle.

Only clutch, weird isnt it? and I cant find anywhere on the searches or even on google if others have had the same problem as me. Now here is the weirder part, if car isnt warmed up it wont do it as bad, once car is warmed up it the RPMs drop even lower.
are you sure you have a safety switch for the clutch??? i remember both of my 88's crx did NOT have them. They were california cars.
Ya, i believe so there is a switch sitting there and the pin behind the pedal is knocked out so the switch acts as if the clutch is never making the switch sense that im not using clutch to turn the car on

hmm... only thing I can think of is that if the safety switch is in place that it is doing something to your electrical.
Maybe worth a try disconnecting the switch and testing that out.

how is it when shifting gears and normal driving in gear? raise the car up on the front and start it up. push in the clutch while in neutral and see if the wheels start to spin and see if it still dies.
Car drives fine and the safety switch is disconnected. Car cranks over slower when i hold clutch in tho. Just pulled put the tranny and the pressure plate is flat where the throwout bearing pushes against maybe presure plates bad ? Also before i toom tranny out it was making a very loud ticking noise like a loud valve tick but it would get quieter when i revved the motor more but still can be heard and valve adjustment has been done no loose valves
Yeah I think ur throwout bearing has to be the reason its almost stalling the engine, but I've never heard it to this extreme. If you have the tranny out, didn't you check it?
There's always a bit of wear on the tips of the clutch plate springs. But excessive wear would also indicate a bad throwout bearing.
Ticking from the engine is either valves or injectors. Pretty normal. But if its coming from underneath, then somethings wrong. Or it could also be bad knocking from worn crankshaft bearings. Probably nothing to do with the idle issue regardless.

ya i havnt really had time to really look at the throwout bearing and pressure plate but I just saw the pressure plate to be flat and not how my other pressure plate looks. Also the ticking noise it is far from the valves or injector normal sound, the sound is loud it over powers my exhaust
Removed my clutch and 2 out of 6 springs on the clutch can be moved around freely, i dont think that is normal now is it? also this is how my transmission sounded kind of too...

Sounds like the input shaft bearing. Also, the bad clutch fingers you mentioned could mean the clutch is binding up - replace it. I would also check the crankshaft end-play on the off chance the thrust bearing on the crank has gone AWOL.
Ya im gonna put my ls tranny with clutch and pressure pkaye and see what hsppens. I doubt its crankwalk it never gave me this problem ever till now Nd transmission sounds like ots the cause for this all
