Default accord started to lag and act up while driving

alright i've got a question, My honda has 175,000 miles on it and its in need of the waterpump/ timing belt change. We were driving it on the freeway and it started to lag and act up and make the sound of sounding like its about to stop running. what could this have been? it had the sound of almost a grinding noise, could this be the waterpump or more so the transmission?

The possibilities are too many to diagnose through the internet. You need to have a trained technician examine the vehicle.

true, alright thanks. I'll just run the diagnostic on it tomorrow, see what pops up.
