Default couple of questions for you turbo guys

i'm about to put together a turbo set up on an 95 integra ls.i plan on running 8 or 9 psi. i've got everything inline except the fuel system.i planned on using a vortec fmu for sure. should i use the 8.1 or the 12.1? also what about a fuel pump and injectors sizes? do i even need new injectors, or will my stock ones do fine? i'm a college student, and i don't have all kinds of money to spend. thats why i only plan on boosting 8-9psi. any advice would be greatly apprciated

dont know if im right, but ill try. from what ive read you need 12:1 fmu, inline pump. and i think the injectors are ok. never the less tuning is the key! im sure youll hear more about that. try a search as well. this site is FULL of great info. i usually dont even post i just read, read, read. its a never ending learning process.
good luck!

Your fuel pressure is going to be pretty high with a 12:1 at 9lbs of boost...

As far as stock injectors go; yes, you CAN use them, but I wouldn't recommend them for 9psi.

@9psi on a 12:1 FMU (Exactly what I am doing right now); you get WAY up there in fuel psi (130+psi). You will need an inline pump, along w/ the FMU; and I would suggest maybe like 310cc injectors (And instead of the 12:1, 8:1).

I'm in the same boat as you are right now. College student, building own turbo cheaply. This is what I'm doing; you might want to think about it:

DSM 450cc injectors. You can get them here in J/Yards for like $40, or all over H-T/Dsmtrader.com/Thepartstrader.com for like $50-$60 shipped.
SMC (Or custom hack; or SAFC if you have the extra cash)

That's it. The SMC costs $89 (Price of a used FMU0 + the $50 for the injectors, and you are GUARANTEED not to lean out. You will have plenty of fuel, a way to control the psi, and your not going to be strainin any fuel pump for 100+ psi that the FMU wants... You can use your stock pump w/ the AFC hack and it will work fine. If you have a lot of miles though, I would suggest an upgraded one (Like $90).

AFC will run better then fmu setup, driving wise, and its a bit better fuel delivery wise..... one day your stock injectors is gonna poop or not add enough fuel under 130psi full pressure and boost and BAM there goes your engine.... I'd rather stick with stock-like fuel pressure and bigger injectors acting like stock, and can add and take away fuel where needed when I get tuned

Plus its good up to 10psi

New to this also...When you say SMC...whast SMC? Also instead of using a FMU, check valves, and an upgraded pump I can run an AFC with DSM 450's with a stock pump and be better off?? This is for a 1995 Integra LS....thanks...

Above is everything you need to know about afc hack...

Parts you need are rc 440c saturated injectors OR 450 dsm (but will need resistor boxes)
S-AFC
stock pump is fine, but walbro is even better
THATS IT!!!!
no missing link, no inline fuel pump, no check valves, no fmu, no fpr....

i'm going to go ahead and get the dsm injectors and the safc. i was looking at the apexi website and saw all the cool stuff that it has on it. i'm was wondering if i will still need to get a air/fuel gauge anda boost gauge or does the safc have all that stuff on it. also i'll probably put in the injectors and safc before the turbo. i read that it won't hurt anything, but will i need to alter the settings that everyone else seems to suggest. thanks for any advice
